Welcome to Liverpool
After a short train journey from Euston Station, we arrive at Liverpool Lime Street - the gateway to the city of Liverpool. The home of The Beatles has shaken off its industrial shackles to become one of Britain's most dynamic and vibrant cities.

Explore the world-famous waterfront, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, from the Albert Dock and up through the historic commercial district. Your tour includes tickets to the award-winning The Beatles Story, where you can explore the life and times of the Fab Four.

This beautiful city is home to more Grade II-listed buildings than any other city in Britain outside of London. Described by English Heritage as England's finest Victorian city, Liverpool's grandiose architecture reflects the status it once held as the 'Second City of the Empire'.

In the afternoon, you'll see the locations of the childhood homes, schools and birthplaces of The Beatles on the Magical Mystery Tour. You'll also see places that inspired some of their greatest hits, including 'Penny Lane' and 'Strawberry Fields Forever'.

Your tour ends at The Cavern Club, the most famous music club in the world and where it all began for The Beatles. This legendary cellar has played a role in every era of music, from 1950s jazz to the rise of rock 'n' roll and 21st-century indie music.

Strawberry Field, the award-winning Liverpool heritage community attraction which focuses on wellbeing, nature and responsible tourism. Indeed, it is a unique addition to Beatles tourism. Recently, Strawberry Field won, for the second year in a row, The Small Visitor Attraction of the Year 2024 at the Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards. It has also gained a ’Silver’ Green Tourism Award in recognition of our ongoing commitment to sustainability

The site comprises an interactive visitor exhibition (media guide/languages ( incl. French, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Mandarin), the historic peaceful gardens, the Imagine More Café and shop.

John found solace as a child playing in the gardens of Strawberry Field and later wrote “Strawberry Fields Forever” for The Beatles. In the exhibition, visitors discover the history of The Salvation Army and its children’s home at Strawberry Field, John Lennon's childhood and the writing and recording of the famous song, as told by John’s close friends and family. At the heart of the exhibition is John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’ piano, on long loan from the Estate of George Michael.
